Gutter Cleaning
Full-clearance gutter cleaning, downspout flushing, and damage check throughout Culpeper, Fauquier, Rappahannock, and Warrenton. Often best bundled with tree work — we're already on the property with the right equipment.
Why It Matters
What Clogged Gutters Cost You
Clogged gutters are quiet damage. Water that can't drain through the gutter system runs back behind the fascia and down the siding. Over a wet Virginia season, that means: rotted fascia boards, water-stained ceilings, ice dams in winter, foundation seepage, and split downspouts where ice formed in the trapped debris.
Most of it is invisible until it's expensive. A $200 gutter cleaning every season prevents thousands of dollars in fascia, soffit, and foundation repair down the road.
If you've had tree work done at the property in the last year, the gutters almost certainly need attention — chipping and limb work send a lot of small debris where the wind carries it.
What We Do
The Full Clearance
- Hand-clear all gutters. Every linear foot, removing leaves, twigs, seed pods, shingle grit, and anything else built up. Bagged and hauled off, not dumped in the yard.
- Flush downspouts. Water test every downspout to confirm it's running clean. If there's a blockage in the spout itself or the underground drain line, we'll find it and clear it.
- Damage check. While we're up there, we check fascia condition, gutter pitch, hanger spacing, and seam integrity. We report what we see — we don't sell gutter replacement, but we'll tell you if something needs a roofer's attention.
- Wipe down the exterior face. Removes the tide-line stains so the gutters look clean from the ground too.
Why Us
Already on the Property
Most gutter-cleaning companies have to schedule a separate trip and charge for the truck roll. We don't. If we're doing tree work at your property, gutter cleaning bundled in costs a fraction of a standalone visit — the labor is what costs, and we're already there.
That said, we'll do gutters as a standalone job too, particularly for properties where we've worked before or in our home counties. No tree work required.
Our crew is comfortable on residential roofs, and we use ladders sized to the building rather than reaching from a too-short ladder. Two-story houses, three-story, walk-out basements with high gable ends — the right ladder for the height.
Timing
When to Clean
- Late fall (early-to-mid November in Virginia) — the most important clean of the year, after the last hardwood leaf drop. Sets you up for winter freeze-thaw without blockages.
- Late spring (May-ish) — clears spring pollen pods, seed catkins, and small-twig debris from spring storms.
- After major storms — especially if you had branches in the yard, your gutters probably caught a lot of leaf litter and small debris.
- After any tree work — debris from chipping and rigging settles in gutters more than people expect.
For most homes, twice a year (fall + spring) is the right cadence. Properties under heavy tree canopy may need three.
Pricing
What Affects the Price
- Linear footage. We price by total gutter length around the house.
- Roof height and complexity. Single-story ranch is faster than a three-story with high gable ends and multiple roof lines.
- Blockage condition. Routine annual cleaning vs. years of compacted debris that needs hand-digging out.
- Bundled with other work. Tree work + gutter cleaning combo is meaningfully cheaper than separate trips.
Estimates are free. For routine residential cleans we can often give a flat rate over the phone if you tell us the house size and roof type.
