Forty combined years caring for the trees and grounds of the Northern Virginia Piedmont. Fully licensed and insured. Based in Jeffersonton; travelling throughout Virginia, Maryland & West Virginia.
What We Do
Licensed and insured, with forty combined years behind every job. Tree work is our specialty — but when the crew's already on site, we handle gutters, power washing, retaining walls, and patios too.
01 — Removal
Hazardous, dead, or storm-damaged trees — taken down safely and cleanly. Technical removals over homes, power lines, and outbuildings are rigged and lowered section by section.
Learn more →02 — Pruning
Structural pruning, deadwood removal, canopy thinning for storm resistance, and crown reduction to manage size and weight. Clean cuts at the right collar — techniques that promote long-term tree health, not shorten it.
Learn more →03 — Shrubs
Ornamental shrubs, foundation plantings, and hedge work — shaped and trimmed properly. Good hands on boxwood, holly, azalea, and the rest of the usual suspects.
Learn more →04 — Grinding
Below-grade grinding with our own equipment — not a rental-dependent outfit. Clean finish, plantable site, no rotting hulk waiting to sprout suckers.
Learn more →05 — Gutters
Full-clearance gutter cleaning, downspout flushing, and a damage check while we're up there. Often best bundled with tree work — we're already on the property with the right ladders.
Learn more →06 — Washing
Houses, driveways, decks, fences, patios — soft-wash for siding, full-pressure for hardscape. Right tool for the surface, no forced water behind your siding.
Learn more →07 — Walls
Stone, block, and timber walls built with proper drainage behind them. The difference between a wall that lasts thirty years and one that bulges out in five.
Learn more →08 — Hardscape
Flagstone, pavers, and stamped concrete patios and walkways. Properly compacted sub-base, real drainage, edges that hold — the details that determine whether the patio lasts.
Learn more →09 — Emergency
Tree through the roof at 3 a.m., driveway blocked, oak over the road after a windstorm — call us. Phone on 24 hours a day. Rapid triage, tarps, removal as fast as we can safely move.

In 2020, two independent arborists with roughly twenty years of experience each — Bryan Graves and Robert Pruitt — decided that pooling their equipment, crews, and knowledge made more sense than competing for the same phone calls. G&P Tree Specialists is the result.
Since then, the company has steadily reinvested in the gear that makes the job doable: stump grinders, chippers, tractors, climbing gear, and proper work trucks. Owned, not rented. Fully-equipped crews, not ad-hoc hires the day of the job.
“Every tree tells you what it needs if you've spent enough time reading them. Forty combined years is enough time.”
We're based in Jeffersonton and serve the Culpeper–Fauquier–Rappahannock corridor as our home turf, with steady work across Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia for larger jobs and storm-response calls. And because trees don't wait for business hours to fall, we keep our phone on 24 hours a day.
Forty combined years reading trees, assessing risk, and making the right cut the first time — so the job finishes with less risk and fewer revisits.
Reachable 24/7 for storm damage and hazard calls. Not a marketing line — it's the actual phone policy. When a tree comes down at midnight, you shouldn't have to wait until morning.
Our own stump grinders, chippers, tractors, and trucks. No waiting on rentals, no cutting corners because the tool isn't right for the job.
Virginia-licensed and fully insured — not a handshake-only operation. Paperwork is current and provided on request for any job.

Rigged take-down of a winter oak over a residential colonial — sectioned lowering to protect the roof line and landscaping.

Boxwood and shaped shrubs, trimmed with a pole saw — hedge work done properly.
Skilled climbing work — the kind of take-down you don't trust to a one-truck operation.
Our own skid steer, grinders, chippers, and trucks. No rental waits, no tool mismatches.
Tree taken down over a mobile home — rigged in sections with a climber and ground spotter.
Climbing into a mature canopy where a bucket truck can't reach — pruning deep in the foliage by hand.
Sectional take-down of a major leader — rigged limb by limb rather than dropped, to protect what's below.
Careful removal next to utility wires — coordinated rigging so nothing comes down on the service drop.
Coordinated rigging across multiple trees — the kind of job a single-truck outfit can't handle.
Structural pruning on a flowering tree — timed to encourage healthy growth without sacrificing the bloom.
Crown reduction over a colonial home — clearing roof and gutter lines while keeping the canopy's natural shape.
Rounds neatly stacked when the customer wants the firewood — full haul-off available too. Your call.
Brush chipped and mulched on site. The yard is left tidier than we found it — not an extra charge.
Two arborists with forty combined years on the job — the team you'll see show up when you call.
Word of Mouth
Good tree work is word-of-mouth work. Here's what recent customers had to say — and where to go if we did right by you too.
I was introduced to Bryan and Robert when they came to my door to advertise some of their services while they were doing work in the neighborhood. I asked for a quote on having four trees removed and stumps removed, and they blew me away with their speed and professionalism. They agreed to come back within the hour to do the work same day, and their communication and professionalism throughout was refreshing. The team gave me a fair price, completed the work quickly, and helped me get one more item off of a large to do list. I will definitely be getting their help again in the future.

I needed a large pine tree removed from my backyard that was planted on a hill and dangerously leaning towards my house. Bryan and his crew kept the line of communication open and showed up on time. They removed the tree by having a worker up in the tree tying ropes around the limbs with another person on the ground directing the drop so it wouldn't hit the roof of her house. It was done in one day and they cleaned up completely.
